I remember coming across information on this subject (the potential for methane releases from the seafloor) years ago, somewhere(?) and their very serious potential impact on earth climate and more (It was prior to me finding the Meier case). Well, looks like we have arrived. Another part of the prophesies being for filled. The main problem, in my opinion, here with this and most other things is the “mass” of humanity on earth is clueless to all this and a LOT more. They believe the MSM and government lies and the enless propganda. Then there is the religious angle which I could, given a lengthy enough time and space to type all of it could be shown to fit in the ignorance of humaity on earth to all this and our own self made demise. But, most here I am sure already know this.
I wish I had anwers. I don’t, unfortunately. Even trying to convince my own family members is largely a fools errand.

This is a truly many-faceted monstrous problem. Methane is just one aspect of the changing global climate, weather systems and sea currents.
A few years back when having dreams of future events I had one I’m which I saw the tundra areas thawing and the skies above with strange clouds that I couldn’t understand at the time. Now I realize that those strange skies/clouds above were reptesrnting the methane released and that this was going to affect our global climate and weather patterns.
As to what to do about it: Stopping our use of fossil fuels would cause a collapse in our enrrgy supplies and usage and hence the world economy, not to mention the thousands PR millions of deaths of those who depend daily on energy for their liylteral survival

The only viable option is to stop procreating, in stages, until our world population is down to the sustainable level so that our global energy requirement is a mere fraction of the current quota. It seems to me that this is the only answer to the problem, but it will still take years to be effective. If we do nothing we will IMO hit the wall at 100kph. I say 100 kph because it will not be a quick and painless outcome: we may end up dead pretty soon, or more likely have to survive in pain with severe difficulties in our lives for years to come.

The links provided only highlight methane as a greenhouse gas. None of them mention methane as a gas, which has an ability to decompose ozone (thinning the ozone layer, so to speak). So I say: “Hell with climatologists ! Hell with them all !!!”
