Magical Elixir

What’s included in this amazing package:

Types of Microorganisms

Microbiota: Guardians of the Forest

Forests are a bustling ecosystem of microorganisms that play a pivotal role in maintaining the health of the environment. The air in forests is laden with these microbes, collectively known as the forest microbiota. This microbial community includes bacteria, fungi, viruses, and other microorganisms that have evolved to thrive in these unique ecosystems.

Microbiota

Probiotics: The Beneficial Bacteria

Probiotics are live microorganisms that offer health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. These beneficial bacteria are not limited to our digestive tracts; they also thrive in the forest air. A study conducted by the University of Colorado Boulder (2016) found that the air in forests contains a rich diversity of bacteria, some of which are related to those found in common probiotic supplements. These forest-derived probiotics are believed to positively influence our gut microbiota, thereby enhancing our immune system, aiding digestion, and potentially reducing inflammation.

Forest Essential Oils

Forest Essential Oils: Aromatherapy from Nature

The fragrant aroma of a forest is not just a sensory delight; it also carries therapeutic potential. Essential oils, extracted from various parts of plants, are known for their aromatic and medicinal properties. Research published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (2019) indicates that forest air contains volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including essential oils, which are released by trees as a defense mechanism against pathogens. Breathing in these compounds while walking through a forest, a practice known as “forest bathing,” has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being.

Nature's Immune Boosters

Phytoncides: Nature’s Immune Boosters

Phytoncides are antimicrobial compounds emitted by trees and plants to protect themselves from pathogens. When we inhale these compounds while in a forest, our bodies may also benefit. A study conducted by the Nippon Medical School in Japan (2009) demonstrated that phytoncides have the potential to enhance natural killer (NK) cell activity and boost the immune system.

These findings suggest that spending time in forest environments could lead to increased resistance to infections and improved immune function.

Microbes at Home

Cultivating Forest Microbes at Home: Nurturing Health and Self-responsibility through Gardening

While the forest air offers a diverse range of beneficial microorganisms, essential oils, and compounds, you don’t necessarily need to venture into the woods to reap these benefits. With a little effort and knowledge, you can cultivate microbe-rich ferments, foods, plant nutrients, pest deterrents, and in your own garden. Scientific studies support the idea that gardening can promote the growth of probiotics and other beneficial microbes, enhancing both the environment and your health. We can take an example from nature and observe that it is the diversity that aids in creating the balance, so with that we should be creating a diversity not only in our foods but in our surroundings as well. The city is a very sterile place, so consider the lack of diversity compared with in the forest and the abundance of diversity that presents a balance, a harmony that keeps everything in check and it is the more beneficial species that dominate not only for the forest but also beneficial to humans and animals and we would be wise to aid in their growth with responsible human ingenuity.

Scientific Validation

Scientific Validation:

The health benefits of forest air are not merely anecdotal; they are backed by rigorous scientific research. Multiple studies have explored the positive effects of forest environments on human health. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology (2015) found that spending time in forests led to a decrease in cortisol levels (a stress hormone) and improvements in mood compared to urban environments.

Semjase:

112. Thousands of millions of human beings of Earth or other worlds look up to the stars of the firmament without any results or cognitions.
113. However, those knowledgeable about stars, by looking up to the firmament, discover new worlds and write books about it.
114. But what they see and recognise, others are not able to see and recognise, even if they can look up.
115. Despite their seeing eyes, they are blind.
116. The situation is similar with the ordinary and simply consciousness-based simple-minded, with the consciousness-based unconscious human being:
117. The human being, who truthfully lives in accordance with the spiritual laws of the Creation, sees and recognises the creational all around in every life-form, in every thing, in every thought and action, in every human being, in all the activity of the nature and also in all imaginable circumstances and occurrences.
118. The ordinary human being, however, who is consciousness-based simple-minded and impaired by religions or other unreal teachings, is neither able to see nor to hear, nor to recognise even just one iota of the truth.
119. His life is unconscious, but all the more pressed into human-material paths.
120. As a result s/he is blind, deaf and unknowing.

Billy:

Of course, it’s all no secret. So then: What is also important in all this, and especially important, is nature and its fauna and flora, because in this respect certain knowledge is needed, on the one hand with regard to the many kinds of plants, wild herbs and flowering plants, but on the other hand also with regard to the many life-forms that populate a functioning natural meadow as soil organisms or plant organisms, in addition to those that use the natural meadows and the trees, bushes and plants in them as guests. These are, for example, birds, deer, hares, foxes, squirrels, badgers, weasels, martens, beetles, butterflies and insects, etc., as well as a variety of soil organisms from worms to bacteria and micro-organisms, of which – I must come back to this – neither the farmers nor the population have any idea or knowledge, because they do not learn and are not interested. Therefore, I would like to briefly explain the following with regard to deer, roe deer, birds and hares, whose populations have been endangered for a long time and some of which have even been wiped out. The entire science of agronomy and the scientific teaching of agriculture, as well as the science of agriculture, are to blame for this, as they irresponsibly use all deadly toxins in the form of poisonous fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides as pesticides and weedkillers in agronomic businesses, agriculture and market gardens, killing many living beings and also causing human beings to fall ill with cancer, etc. This is part of the daily routine of commercial agronomy. Thus, it is part of the agenda of commercial ‘natural’ food cultivation in agriculture, farming and horticulture that the use of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and insecticides, rodenticides, etc., as well as seed dressings and preservatives and genetic manipulation spread destruction, death, disease, extinction and decay…..

I will start by explaining that it is the diversity of all ecosystems that makes all life possible, such as the forest, sea, freshwater, coral reefs, bio-ecosystems, coasts, mountains, mangrove forests, grassland, cultivated grassland, heaths, cultivated food land, arable land, fallow land, urban ecosystems, village ecosystems, earth ecosystems and aquatic or spring ecosystems etc. Urban ecosystems are special fields of ecology, urban ecology and bioecology. If all ecosystems that exist worldwide are considered, I would like to say that the Earth is a huge biotope in which tens of millions of communities of plants, animals, bees, bumblebees, wasps, hornets, snakes, lizards, birds and feathered creatures of all kinds exist, as well as butterflies, moths, beetles, worms, bacteria, micro-organisms, grasshoppers, insects and spiders, etc. and, and, and. In fact, all these living beings can be counted in tens of millions, each according to its genus and species, consequently, for example, animals are mammalian creatures and insects must not be equated with other living beings, just as beetles, grasshoppers, dragonflies, moths and butterflies, etc., cannot, because each living being corresponds to its own genus or species and has no relationship with other life-forms. A fact that unfortunately has not yet been grasped by the corresponding earthly scientists…..

…..In the processes in the ecosystems, soil bacteria etc. also carry out indispensable and life-sustaining tasks through their activity, whereby they form humus substances in addition to inorganic substances, through which the fertility of the soil is increased. These soil bacteria and other living beings are also used by human beings when they create composts with organic materials and substances, which are then converted into humus by the bacteria in decomposition processes. Such composting is usually done with vegetable and other plant waste, rotten fruit, fallen or scavenged leaves, grass or weeds, but also with kitchen waste, which is then decomposed and transformed into compost humus by millions of bacteria and other microorganisms.

Billy:

In natural agriculture and horticulture, no artificial fertilizers and no artificial growth fertilizers may be used, but only purely natural substances, because otherwise the vital soil microorganisms die and make the soil infertile and, so to speak, dead. If, however, food plants are to grow again on such soil, it must first be recultivated, which can only happen by reactivating the soil through the addition of microorganisms and natural plant fertilizers. This also applies to our garden and the greenhouse, which have to be repaired because they have been mistreated and neglected since I handed over the reins years ago and no longer maintained the garden and greenhouse together with Silvano. Quetzal also complained a lot about the state of the garden and the greenhouse, so now I take the reins again and arrange everything in the right way together with Silvano. The garden and greenhouse soils must be reclaimed and reactivated. In this respect, natural substances, which have become known as EM products and which we will now use to reactivate the exhausted, completely overgrown soils overgrown with moss and weeds, are particularly suitable. That is why I have been particularly interested in this matter lately and have come across Adela’s idea that a Japanese professor of agriculture, named Teruo Higa, made the so-called EM or ‘Effective Microorganisms’ known at agricultural congresses through lectures through which the soil can be reclaimed and good harvests can be produced again. In this regard, I have already copied something that I want to read to you here, namely the history of the EM, as it is briefly described in the book ‘EM kompakt’ by Dr. Anne Katharina Zschocke:

The idea for the microorganism mixture EM originated more than thirty years ago from people on the Japanese island of Okinawa between Taiwan and Japan.

Okinawa is called the ‘Island of Death’ because it was one of the worst battles of the world wars. At the same time Okinawa is called the ‘Island of Hundred Years’ because the life expectancy of the people who live there traditionally is the highest in the world. The Effective Microorganisms were discovered in this area of tension between life and death.

Who has discovered the EM is not exactly known, there are contradictory statements about it. However, knowing the origins of EM is neither necessary nor helpful for its application.

Among those who brought the EM to fruition were employees of Sanko Sangyo as a developer, the agronomy professor Teruo Higa, who worked on it, and the ecological-spiritual agricultural association Sekai Kyusei Kyo (‘Religion for the salvation of the world’), at whose agricultural congresses EM were made known worldwide through lectures, among others by Professor Higa, for example in 1995 in Paris.

EM are now known in almost every country in the world and are taught, recommended and used by the government in some schools and universities – Thailand and Costa Rica were the first to do so. It was and is always the initiative of individual enthusiastic people who promote and pass on knowledge, experience and practical application of the EM.

The recipe for the EM had long remained secret in Japan, and the EM were initially imported from there. With the increasing scope of the application, the information about EM also shifted production to the individual countries, where today several manufacturers offer EM under different trade names. EM as microorganisms, which are composed of billions of years old strains of tiny living beings, are naturally not suitable as objects for patents and sole ownership claims, there are therefore differences in the number of microbial strains in EM with different manufacturers, but neither ‘original’ nor ‘imitated’ EM.

The composition of EM = Effective Microorganisms is a mixture of lactic acid bacterial strains, yeasts, actinomycetes and photosynthetic bacteria.

Individual microbial strains each have their own abilities, but their effectiveness in EM comes from their interaction, as their metabolic properties complement each other perfectly.

Photosynthetic bacteria are crucial for many effects of EM. But they are dependent on each other, on a team that complements each other. Oxygen-loving microorganisms such as yeasts and photosynthetic bacteria create an oxygen-poor environment in which they can develop their enzyme activity.

EM are natural microorganisms and do not contain genetically modified strains.

Photosynthesis bacteria are essential for the effectiveness of EM. The genus Rhodopseudomonas contained in the EM belongs to the ancient bacterial strains of geological history and is able to digest fats, organic acids, amino acids, sugars, alkaloids and even aromatic compounds such as benzene derivatives. With the enzyme nitrogenase formed by them, they can convert nitrogen gases into ammonium and further into organic compounds and even render poisons such as cyanide (prussic acid) ineffective. …

How EM work: EM give an impulse to the environment and bring about a revival. This leads to the support and activation of the existing microorganisms and to the transformation of a disturbed habitat into a healthy one.

The effect of EM is supported by a bacteria-friendly environment care. When using the EM the following happens according to experience:

    • A microbially impoverished environment is again populated with a variety of microbes.
    • Through communication with the existing microorganisms, they provide an impulse for self-regulation in the sense of ‘peaceful coexistence’ with each other and with the environment.
    • EM support existing microorganisms in bringing blocked circuits back into flow.
    • EM tune an environment to life-promoting effectiveness.
    • Metabolic processes change.
    • Matter is converted by the formation of nutrient substances.
    • The resulting substances have an antioxidant effect.
    • It comes to purification, clarification and a higher energy level.
    • Fine material vibrations enable a microbe-friendly harmonization.
    • A degenerative environment is converted into a regenerative environment, so that pathogenic processes can be transformed into a healthy bacterial-fungal colonisation.
    • It leads to healing.

I live in BC Canada . . and forests are annually burning up exponentially!

Not to mention the constant misdeeds of big business corporate mismanagement!

I’m not coming from a ‘poor me’ standpoint.

Terry Carch "I Want to Move to Erra!

I live in an area neighborhood which has abundant trees flowers and some people in our neiborhood grow vegables and plants etc outside in our backyard courtyards. There are 2 identical 3 story buildings and both of them have outside landscaped gardens with trees, small gardens, flowers etc. “We need to do more to prevent this global warming out of control climate from getting out of all these extreme climate catastrophes which must also include doing away with fosill feuls including natural gas which is a fosil fuel!” This begs the question of how soon will we ever learn to start using “electron energy!y”

Interestingly my father-in-law was practicing his “bug” reclamation and it was successful for many farmers, about 35 years ago.

Greetings. Great article Melissa and Brandon! EM is so important and must be implemented in our life; something is ajar!

I recently bought 25 lbs. of earth worm castings soil and recalled early me – at age 10, watering the grass at night and getting up at 6 am to pull large earthworms – sold to the bait store for a nickle each, which bought me comics to read, so 2 worms = the Silver Surfer, etc. Behold!

Recently was gardening- I noted the the lack of them, so I will start again…. the growing of earth worm mini farms in cardboard boxes because now it is needed – replenish your own back yard and walk in the woods and inhale. So thanks- from one cosmic citizen to another. It’s Gathering Time!

Great article. Thanks Brandon. Salome

After just 3 days in the forest earlier this year I noticed that the color of my stool had significantly changed from dark brown to golden brown, the same color of a baby stool. I was fascinated by this and did some research as to what was happening.

I learned that forest breathing and a walk in the woods are extremely beneficial for both the mental and physical health.

All that you presented here Melissa is correct and your detailed article is a reminder that I should to purchase the Forest Medicine book.

Thank you!

Thank you, Brandon!

Walks through the forests are a wonderful experience that cannot be denied. So when preparing to have a walk on the wild side, remember to take a bottle of water, and some clean cloths. A First Aid box just in-case of bites from insects or sharp branches or if you have a fall and graze yourself.
Also a compass might be handy if there are not any pre-walked paths made by others before you; as you admire and take in the scenery/smells etc, as you might get lost.
One’s cell phone might not work when deep in the forest.

Get Grounded
Why the cloth? This is to wipe clean your feet after spending time standing bare foot on the soil. Standing bare foot on the soil I’m sure it’s mentioned in Billy’s book:-
“Introduction to Meditation”, “Einfuhrung in die Meditation”.

Young children are always taking off their shoes and socks for some reason. Could it be due to fluidal powers maybe?

This is a great article. I was raised in Brooklyn and Queens in NY and the city is all I ever knew growing up. I was so afraid of bugs and worms. Now I am living in a forest in Virginia and have an acre cleared out for my house. I never tire of walking in the forest and smelling the air. It is so peaceful and beautiful. I love when the sun light shines through the trees. I really like hearing the sounds of the forest and the birds singing in response to each other. Last night it was cool and I kept my window open. I could hear owls hooting. Everything is so alive. It is all part of the Creation. We have an organic garden and one of my neighbors has a ton of worms and she has offered some of them to us. We will be taking them and using them in our soil. I never thought for a moment that I would ever be living in a forest, but you never know what life has in store for you. I am still not crazy about wasps, hornets and copper heads, but I have learned to accept them as they have their place in nature. It is good therapy for everyone to spend some time in a forest. I would never live in a city again.

Euronews showed a short clip of Starlings Murmuration (flocks) on the German border, however in was filmed 7 years ago in the Netherlands. It was so lovely to see I thought I should post it while there are still enough birds to film, as the students know wildlife is on the decline due to the insane overpopulation by humans. This little clip shows the birds in harmony whilst in flight.
