Sheila Clark just received this response from the Canadian Prime Minister’s Office to an email she had sent him that contained our petition. It’s heartening to know that there are those who aren’t so conflicted and congested by their political correctness, anger at a government, leader, etc., that they can take a stand for what is right, in their rational self-interest and in the best interests of humanity:
On behalf of the Prime Minister, thank you for your correspondence regarding the situation in Iraq. We appreciated the opportunity to review your comments and have taken note of your concerns.
Since early 2014, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has been carrying out a campaign of unspeakable atrocities against innocent children, women and men, as well as religious minorities in Iraq. Specifically, it has tortured and beheaded people, raped and sold women into slavery, slaughtered minorities and kidnapped innocent victims whose only crime was to have a different set of beliefs than ISIL. We know from experience that terrorist groups such as ISIL cannot be permitted to gain control of a territory in which they are then able to train and prepare for further attacks in the region or against the international community.
Last summer, when ISIL stood on the brink of committing genocide in Northern Iraq, Canada’s allies, led by U.S. President Barack Obama, intervened. We joined this response by offering humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the Iraqi people. We also provided Canadian Armed Forces specialists to offer advice to security forces in Iraq on battling the terrorists, and provided aircraft to transport weapons and supplies to fight ISIL.
As you know, on October 7, the House of Commons voted to authorize participation in air strikes against ISIL, joining other countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Jordan and many others. This motion includes the commitment of up to six CF-18 fighter aircraft as part of a strike force. It also sets out continued assistance to Iraq and other allies in the areas of ongoing advice to security forces, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and aircraft refueling.
To be clear, Canada’s engagement in Iraq is not a ground combat mission. It includes a number of targeted measures, being taken with allies, to severely limit the ability of ISIL to engage in full-scale military movements and to operate bases in the open.
The military measures we are taking are helping to provide security on the ground and degrade the capabilities of ISIL. These actions are necessary to ensure that effective humanitarian assistance is provided and reaches those most in need. Canada is proud to be the 7th largest contributor to assist in this crisis, providing food, hygiene kits, cooking materials, blankets, tents, medical supplies and other essentials including emergency repairs to water and sanitation facilities. We are also providing emergency shelters and medical assistance to thousands of Iraqi civilians. This is in addition to large-scale financial assistance to other governments in the region impacted by the crisis in Syria. Rest assured we remain committed to working closely with our allies to determine how best we can continue to support the needs of Iraqis, including religious minorities.
Left unchecked, ISIL is a threat not only to peace and security in the region, but to global security as well. They have already voiced their local and international terrorist intentions and identified Canada as a potential target. It is imperative that we act with our allies to halt ISIL’s spread in the region and reduce its capacity to launch terrorist attacks outside the region, including against Canadians. Our Government has a duty to protect Canadians and shoulder our burden in efforts to combat such threats.

I was in the senate chamber on October 7th in Ottawa when they had the big debate about Iraq just a week before the shooting. Glad you got through. The political popularity of the conservative party in my territory is in the dumps since some of the stunts they tried to pull with oil and gas exploration in the last few years. The courts finally just decided two weeks ago against the governments plans to develop 71% all the untouched lands here. So yeah, glad you were able to get through some other way. I quietly did the peace meditation while I was in the chamber while they were debating Iraq. Mulcair and Trudeau were both there and John Baird.

Two prime examples are St. Petersburg where my favourite ballet dancer is from and Moscow where she is now a principle with the Boshoi Ballet. Unfortunately she is a devout Orthadox church beliefef. PPS. There’s nothing in this letter that is different from what they discussed and voted on in the senate when I was there on the 7th of October. There will be a need for boots on the ground and much more than what they’ve done so far. The point Billy made was that not nearly enough has been done to stop IS and that the efforts of the U.S. Canada and others have been totally ineffective and that a lot more needs doing if we’re going to actually take care of the problem.

I compared the PMO newsletter from Oct. 7, 2014 to this letter here and although the wording is almost identical, this letter has more information but has also left out a few key sentences – probably for the best.
Yeah, I just think they pump out this stuff to appease people, not really to answer their questions. They said what they’re doing but not really responding to the ground troops thing let alone working on a multinational peace force with other countries like Russia, China and so on (the two key points FIGU and Billy put forth). On that point, just days after Canada started bombing with their jets, there was a report that I posted on my facebook about the IS troops having changed their tactics and moving into the crowds rending the bombing runs pretty well useless. So if they don’t change their tune, nothing will improve.
The response from US, EU, Canada, Turkey, Persian Gulf states and their “coalition” is schizophrenic to say the least. On the one hand giving money, weapons, equipment, training, intellingence data to the “moderate rebels” (aka ISIS) in Syria and on the other bombing and fighting the same people. There is no such thing as a moderate terrorist.
This my peace plan to fight IS and to save the world.
1. Stop funding, arming and support for IS and their allies including the FSA
2. Stop all efforts to overthrow the Syrian and Iranian governments
3. Recognize the Syrian government/Bashar al Assad, Iran and Lebanon as equal partners in the coalition against IS and provide them support on all levels.
4. Force Turkey to stop killing and persecuting the Kurds
5. Help Turkey, Jordan and Israel to control their borders.
6. Force Israel to stop bombing Syrian army troops.
7. Stop playing war games with Putin and recognize Russia as an equal partner in the coalition against IS.
8. Implement harsh penalties world wide for anyone recruiting, funding, supporting etc IS and its allies.
9. Help peaceful and sane muslim leaders around the world to get their message to all their followers to not support IS ideology in anyway.
10. Provide humanitarian help to refugees.
11.Send ground troops from a broad coalition, mainly from the neighboring states, Iraq and Syria.
12. Support all local militias and tribes fighting IS
13. Western countries to provide support for the ground troops with all modern technology, weapons, equipment, night vision, helicopters, intelligence gathering, special forces, training, air assaults, drones, satellite data, all types of vehicles etc.
14. Wipe out IS and let the refugees return
15. Form a worldwide financial support mechanism to rebuild Syria and Iraq.
16. Establish an international law that once and for all stops any country, corporation, body or entity from medling in the internal affairs of another.
17. Implement a permanent real global truth and reconciliation tribunal that has members from every country and with powers to prosecute and detain anyone in the world for crimes against humanity.
18. Stop overpopulation and establish the peace meditation as a real method of praying all over the world in every religion.
19. Live in peace, save the planet and conquer space both inner and outer.
To sum it all up, there is no point in sending troops to fight unless there is real plan and a real coalition with all effected states playing a role. At the moment there is no plan and no coalition, its just perpetrual war for profit and power with no intetion of stoping the violence. Good job Sheila anyways on getting some attention to the matter!

Seems over the years my conspiratorial ‘spirit’ has slowly declined more and more, towards that of a more here and now approach. In that, what ever may be occurring now only(yet not solely) has this moment to be dealt with. As there is no need in deviling in these things only to become fearful, anxious, vengeful, and filled with all that is represented within these trains of thought. Which most definitely leads one to much idleness, within despair.

The Sydney siege involved an Iranian nutcase that had nothing to do with ISIS but the media were making out and reporting it as if it was up until the time it ended when they found out it wasn’t. Likewise media outlets around the world did too.

The Sydney siege most certainly had something to do with ISIS as it is precisely this kind of person who gets ‘radicalized’ by ISIS propaganda through the internet anywhere in the world and takes terrorism into their own hands per ISIS propaganda, as Meier & Ptaah have both pointed out. And he is said to have asked for an ISIS flag as one of his demands.
This kind of incident will only further the resolve of the coalition to step up their involvement to more than some half-assed effort, even as it will undoubtedly come up far short of the necessary complete eradication of the IS malignancy.
I thought you guys and figu were going to notify the NSA about shutting down ALL those terrorist websites so nobody can be influenced by their radical jihadist sadistical beliefs? It is possible to write to the White House. I just did so. You can also send Obama an email which I also did. I don’t have the link to hand but a search on “writing to President Obama” or “Contacting President Obama” or change PO to “the White House” or “US government” should produce results close enough for you to get there. I think the limit for emails is 2500 characters (read letters), so be succinct and precise. The emails, and presumably letters too go to a kind of secretariate (writing from memory not at home). They choose 10 emails or letters (don’t recall c which) a day to show Pres.
Obama.

Maybe you really are better off sitting on the sidelines and criticizing.
