Take a warped drive to what really may be the final frontier
To be fair, I only heard about five minutes of Bill’s Ode to Hillary on the radio last night, and then Hillary’s gushing closing remarks, while she was apparently surrounded and embraced by adoring children. It struck me as a very masterful exercise in emotional button pushing, a classic bit of hypnosis and hype by a master storyteller and serial adulterer; a proven winning combination.
While Bill’s certainly skillful enough to weave tall tales, I would imagine they spared no expense in acquiring the talents of expert consultants* to make sure that every possible note on the piper’s pipes would be played, well calculated to ensnare the females in the audience with appeals designed to bypass critical thinking and manipulate their familial, maternal, and/or other sentiments.
Strangely, the homespun homilies and touching tales were devoid of details about, let alone mention of, anything concerning the Clinton Foundation’s involvement in what some consider highly questionable financial transactions with human rights suppressing regimes. Nor did I, in those few minutes, hear a word about disappeared emails, or their multitude of other various scandals.
Now I just took a break from writing this and saw that there were a number of commentaries online from people who’d seen the entire…performance, so I’ll only add this.
Playing to the American fascination with the cult of personality, the Klingons cloak themselves in the preposterous political polyester of being people-of-the-people. Borrowing from the magician’s (or is it pickpocket’s?) handbook, they want us to “look at this hand” while ignoring the one over there, picking everyone’s pockets…while categorically denying it.
Bill bathes the audience in emotional balm – your eyelids are getting heavy, heavier – and subtlety but implicitly plays the…entitlement card; Hillary deserves to be president, all reasoning aside.
We’re offered the choice between a candidate who wants us to put ethics, morality and reasoning aside and transfer the pull on our heartstrings to pulling the lever for more war, or the hot-shot, reality show businessman who views the whole thing as another negotiation, a deal to close and more bounty to be won. If that doesn’t work out too well for the country, if people get Trumped, Trumpled and trampled in the process, I guess we can talk to his lawyers.

As I’ve commented elsewhere in response to your accusations, it’s time for you to present the actual evidence that Trump is a racist, or stop making the accusation. Racism is a special kind of vile behavior that goes far beyond even the “usual” lying, cheating, etc.
As I’ve also said, I won’t post another one of your accusations that he’s a racist without your providing credible substantiation for it. You claim to be quite capable, intelligent, etc., which certainly means that you can – and should – contact your friends to come forward publicly and contact the facility, etc. In other words, be responsible enough to back up and stand by your accusations with actual evidence.

Thank you, John, for posting the text as I hadn’t read this Contact Report before. I plead guilty as charged. I’ve held grudges and played the victim many times in the past, but since learned to be more objective and fair minded. I do occasionally slip up, especially when confronted with rude and uncalled for behavior, which can get me worked up.
Mastering one’s emotions is challenging and though I probably will never quite nail it, I keep doing my best to earn an A for effort.

Since the implementation of the North American “Free Trade” Agreement (NAFTA), the American economy, which was already stagnating, has gone downhill at an increasing speed. When we examine the details of the “free trade” agreement, it is easy to see why it has caused so much devastation. From toxic imports to the flooding of illegal immigrants, NAFTA has all but decimated the United States.
Week after week we hear about recalls of imports, including imports from Mexico and Canada. Just last week Mexico recalled Corona beer because glass particles were found in the beer. Now this week Canadian coleslaw has been recalled due to contamination of listeria, which makes people very sick.
Because of NAFTA, American workers are now forced to compete directly with Mexican workers who, on average, make just $3 per hour. Their American counterparts make $18 per hour. Why would any manufacturer want to produce here in America and pay $18-20 per hour when the same product can be produced right across the border in Mexico for just $3 per hour and then shipped back to the U.S. duty- and restriction-free?
We had a small trade surplus with Mexico in 1993 before signing onto NAFTA. By 2007, 14 years after signing NAFTA, that surplus turned into a $91 billion deficit with Mexico. The combined deficit with Canada and Mexico together increased to $190 billion – an astounding 691 percent increase.
Illegal immigrants in the U.S. have increased to 12 million today from 3.9 million in 1993, accounting for an overall increase of over 300 percent. Since NAFTA was implemented, 300,000 American family farms have been put out of business. Overall, net farm incomes are down 13 percent.
Obviously NAFTA has not been very beneficial to the U.S. In all reality, the trade pact has been an abject failure.
The cruel reality of NAFTA is that it does not benefit the American worker. In fact, it encourages our jobs to leave the country in pursuit of lower wage rates, non-existent environmental standards and trade without restrictions.
NAFTA was a disaster when it was passed by Congress, a disaster when it was enacted and it remains a disaster today.
